In a saddle, your bow, your pack and the sticks you carried in all need somewhere to hang. This page covers the cheap options with specs from the makers and listings. Sources are at the end.
What I use:
- I keep a Pursuit Gear Hanger 13 inch in my pack. It's super easy to install.
- On short sits, I use my lineman's belt as the pack hanger.
- I carry my saddle on a CAVEKEAP MOLLE hook. As of October 10, 2026, that Amazon listing shows as currently unavailable.

Tree hooks vs strap hooks
- Screw-in hangers (Pursuit, HME) go into the tree. Rules on screw-in hardware vary by property, so check them. See public land bowhunting for beginners.
- Strap and bow hooks (Tethrd Quick Draw) hang on a strap around the tree, so nothing goes into the bark.
Carrying sticks and platform on your saddle
Latitude says to girth-hitch one loop of its Quick Draw Gear Hanger to your saddle's MOLLE and the other to your platform or sticks, then clip the buckle at the tree before you climb. CAVEKEAP markets its hook for hanging sticks and a platform off a saddle. See climbing sticks compared and saddle hunting safety.
Quiet
HME says its rubber coating keeps hanging gear quiet. CAVEKEAP markets plastic as avoiding metal clanks. For more on noise, see the quiet climb setup.

- Keep binoculars on you. See bino harnesses and rangefinder pouches, like the MOXULE.

Are screw-in tree hooks allowed? It depends on the property. Check the rules.
Can a plastic hook hold sticks and a platform? CAVEKEAP lists 44 to 66 lb. Check the rating against your gear.
