Which kind to carry
- Folding handsaw: lighter to carry. The Hooyman 6 inch lists 0.6 lb vs 2.3 lb for the 5 ft extendable.
- Extendable pole saw: reaches limbs you can't get to from the ground or the tree. Heavier to carry.
- Tooth size: Silky sells the PocketBoy in four tooth sizes. It lists large teeth (7 per inch) for pruning and green wood.

What size saw do I need? For a limb or two, a 6 to 7 inch folding saw like the ones above. For high limbs, an extendable.
Does a hunting saw need to be expensive? The folding saws above list for about $40 or less.
Can I trim shooting lanes on public land? It depends on the rules. Check before you cut.
